Quote of the Day: “I am willing to speak truth to power, but first I must know the truth”
I am willing to speak truth to power, but first I must know the truth.
This has been an important lesson for me to learn at a deeper level these past few years. Before I stand up and say what I think, I should make sure that I carefully think and understand the situation. While some people see the world in black and white, and others in gray, I now see it is a multi-dimensional gradient that is fuzzy.
I should also note, that I actually came up with this quote before learning of Gandhi’s “One needs to be slow to form convictions, but once formed they must be defended against the heaviest odds”, although I think my statement is really an application of his idea.
