Quote of the Day: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears”

May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears

At the passing of a great man, and even during their lifetime, it is nearly inevitable that quotes will be attributed to them that they didn’t say.  While I am not sure that this is the case with this valuable beatitude, thus far I haven’t found evidence to support that these were words from Mandela, despite being repeated all over the Internet.

On the other hand, the tools I have used to research such things seem to be dulling, as Google Books and the Google News Archive search continue to produce poorer results, to a level that I am not sure I can trust their lack of results as evidence to suggest that something isn’t the case.

Also, this quote is not out of line with other things Mandela had said, so while I can’t confirm the quote, I hope it is from him, and thus my choice to not fear posting it, with caveats being said.
