Quote of the Day: “The secret in education lies in respecting the student.”

The secret in education lies in respecting the student.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, Education: An Essay and Other Selections.

As a reflection over the past 10 quotes,I think making a claim of being “The 10 Most Inspiring Education Quotes of All Time” is a bit of a stretch (especially since several weren’t even directly about education!), although any “top 10” list tends to be more entertainment than being serious.

Maybe I will come up with my own “Top 10” of the moment list, since I can’t claim there won’t be another quote that I won’t like better, when I learn it.  But I won’t even venture to do that limited activity until I have a more “objective” (or properly contextualized) method of doing this.  Maybe I will try to do a PageRank algorithm on a set of quotes about education in the future to get an accurate list about the top 10 most influential quotes about education…  I just need to get my data science chops up some more.  Or maybe I’ll put those data science chops to more productive work… 🙂
