Quote of the Day: “Aim for the sun………you may never reach it, but you will fly higher than if you never aimed at all.”

Aim for the sun………you may never reach it, but you will fly higher than if you never aimed at all.

When I was young, my mom had this hanging up in our bathroom, and the quote always stuck with me, and I would dare say is incorporated deeply into who I am.   While I truly like the way that it was written on that positive thinking sign from my youth, it appears that this saying originally comes from a quote by Rev. Joel Hawes, which I found published as early as 1904 in a book titled Best Thoughts of Best Thinkers (although quite possibly it is also in one of the books Rev. Joel Hawes published as I didn’t check each of them):

Aim at the sun, and you may not reach it; but your arrow will fly far higher than if aimed at an object on a level with yourself.
