Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

With today being Humanlight, and with the Solstice being a few days ago, I thought it was appropriate to share the profound wisdom of Carl Sagan. If the message of Jesus was truly to love one another, as his quotes of the bible such as love your neighbor and also to love your enemy clearly shows, then those who celebrate Christmas can gain value from the ideas of Dr. Sagan.  There have been several videos created with his narration of an excerpt of his book about the Pale Blue Dot, with the following being one that I think is rather poignant in imagery:

In addition, there is an “official” Carl Sagan video of part of this narration, and this past year, the Cassini spacecraft took a similar photo on “The Day the Earth Smiled“.
